Wireman's Licence / Unit Standards Course

For electricians who want to understand the regulations, the theory and the testing behind every certificate of compliance they'll sign.

What this course is about

This is MG's launch programme. It takes you through twenty topics in order, from the Electrical Installation Regulations, 2009 to the certificate of compliance and the test report, with a quiz at the end of each module.

This programme covers the wireman's licence unit standards topics in MG's supplied course material: the Electrical Installation Regulations, 2009, electrical theory and calculations, single-phase and three-phase systems, wiring, earthing and bonding, protective devices, distribution boards, inspection and testing, safe isolation, and the certificate of compliance and test report.

This description is a draft, based on the information supplied so far, and is waiting for MG's approval.

What you'll cover

How you're assessed

A multiple-choice quiz for each module, marked automatically with the result shown immediately. Staff-marked assessment can be added.

Completing an MG course doesn't by itself grant an electrical licence or registration. An MG course-completion certificate is not an electrical installation Certificate of Compliance.
